ECOTERRORISM IN THE NAME OF ENVIRONMENTALISM

Some people will do some horrible things in the name of saving the environment. A good example comes from the Earth Liberation Front (ELF) which destroys property in order to discourage what they see as the destruction of the environment. What is meant to be a good deed for the Earth is actually classified as ecoterrorism.

The particular brand of ecoterrorism that ELF engages in also has another noble idea; they express to their people that they never hurt an animal or a human during their acts of “protecting” the environment. That’s great, but they tend to set fires. A lot of animals and some humans can die in fires. They may want to re-think committing acts of ecoterrorism if they really do not want to harm a living thing.

The other reason to leave ecoterrorism behind would be because people cannot get behind their cause while they are destroying other people’s property and endangering lives at the same time. People who read this blog would be interested in helping the environment and animals, but the readers of this blog couldn’t possibly be for anything that could potentially hurt an animal.

In sum, ecoterrorism does not appear to be a good way to engender sympathy for your cause especially if your cause is on behalf of the environment. There are better ways to improve the environment. For example, the Los Angeles Zoo is in the business of improving the environment and natural habitats of endangered animals around the world. To further their work in this area, donations would help them more than setting something on fire and you will have a beautiful picture of an animal to cherish. Part of the proceeds from all products from Dyani’s Creations with a picture of an animal will be donated to the LA Zoo.
